Ultimate Roleplaying Guide
The Basics
we study the starry night sky and wonder, what are the building blocks of life?
1. First off, roleplaying on True Fire is post-to-play, which means that instead of playing a flash game/a game where you move around on the screen, you make a character and write what that character is doing in your post.
2. Roleplaying on True Fire is in third person and past tense, which means that instead of writing "I walk through the den entrance, and look around," you would write instead "'character's name' walked through the den entrance, and looked around." So write like it already happened and you were watching it.
3. You may not godmod. to godmod means to make other characters that you don't roleplay do things. You may not do this unless you get special permission from the staff. So ONLY roleplay YOUR characters.
The Details
If the moon wasn't up there, we wonder, then what would keep the burning sun in check?
4. To make a roleplay, a new one, click on any roleplay board that you are permitted to post in. Once the page loads, then scroll down to the place where the topics (threads) are listed. In the same bar above the listed topics as 'mark as read' and 'search', there is a button that reads 'new topic'. if that button is not there then that mean you are not allowed to post on that board. Once you find and click it, scroll down on the page that loads and you will see a space for a title and content. This is the setup for all posts and topics you will make on TF. In the title, put whatever you want your roleplay to be called and next to it, in ()s, the user(s) that the roleplay is open to/reserved for besides yourself. If you don't have a particular character in mind, then write (open,). In the content box, you can fill in the content of the first post in your roleplay. Usually it begins with a title, your character's name. But it doesn't have to. If you have a posting template for your character, then use that if you would like. Write your message out (150+ word count), and then click the 'Post Message' button under all that. Other people can reply to your roleplay and start participating by going to the roleplay thread and clicking the 'reply' button.
5. If you want to reply to another user's roleplay, and you are allowed, then go to the board that it's in and click on the thread. Then scroll down to the bar that has the 'search', 'share' and 'print' buttons. In that row if you are permitted to reply there will be a 'reply' button. Click that and, once the page loads, scroll down past the title, because you want to keep it how it is. (The title should say 'Re: Thread Title') then fill in the content box so that your post corresponds with at least the previous one, and click 'post Message'. Your reply will then be shown beneath the others.
If you have any more questions about anything having to do with how to roleplay, then please reply to this topic with your question(s) and we will add the answers to this list!
